Terms and Conditions

General Information

Our courses, workshops and events are offered to adults of 18+ years old.

If it's your first time at Caramelo Latin Dance we will help you choose the right dance course for you. We can arrange a personal evaluation time with one of our instructors to identify your level if you've had some prior experience. Evaluations need to be pre-booked in advance.

All 1-day intensive courses are subject to pre-booking and can not be re-scheduled or refunded in case of absence.

All 4-week course packages are valid for ONE course month and all courses within a package have to be taken within that month and by the same person (e.g. if you register for January, all courses within your package have to be completed by you in January). You may not use the same package to spread your course sessions over different months.

When you register for a single 4-week course, you must attend the chosen 4-week course in that course month, you cannot switch to another 4-week course or mix and match with other 4-week courses in that course month. Similarly, when you register for multiple 4-week courses, you must attend the chosen 4-week courses in that course month.

All 4-week courses start on the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month - please check the exact course start dates on our website

You are allowed to start from the second week of the course, however, your package will still expire at the end of the month, there is no roll-over to next month for any un-taken sessions.

We do not offer classes on a drop-in basis as we focus on a consistent and progressive 4-week course structure for our weekly courses.

All registrations are individual registrations. There are no registrations / discounts for couples.

Make sure you enrol into the courses you wish to take after you complete the purchase of your package.

Special seasonal offers can only be taken in the months specified and can not be rolled over.

Rotating partners during the courses is a part of the learning experience and is compulsory, as the social aspect of Latin partner dancing is fundamental in a group class environment.

If you have specific learning objectives that only involve you and your partner as a couple, please look into private lessons as they may better assist you with your couple-specific goals.

At the end of the completed course month your instructor will inform you if you are ready to move up into a new level. The higher the level the more times you need to repeat it to master the concepts taught. We vary the partnerwork and footwork routines so you are continuously learning new material.

COVID 19 GUIDELINES

Staff, visitors and clients who are unwell with following symptoms of Coronavirus (Covid-19) should not attend the studios. If you have any of the following symptoms DO NOT enter the building.

Please note that we have the right to refuse entry to anyone registered for our courses if you have Covid19 symptoms, and no refunds will be eligible.

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

If you have symptoms and have a booking with us, please contact Caramelo as soon as possible.

For any questions or concerns please email info@caramelolatindance.co.uk.

Whilst not mandatory, we strongly advise attendees to wear a mask during classes for your own safety as well as the safety of others.

Students will be required to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer before commencing any partnerwork in class.

As a student/visitor to our studios, you agree to take full responsibility for your personal health, hygiene and assuring the safety of others in attendance.

We strongly advise those deemed as high risk to avoid attending the studios.

Required Dress-Code

Please wear comfortable and light clothing that you are able to freely move in. Please dress for a studio class, not a club night.  For women we recommend leggings, skirts, stretch jeans, shirts, t-shirts and tops. For men trousers or jeans with a shirt or a t-shirt, no shorts or sleeveless vests please.

Please be aware and take good care of your personal hygiene and body odour as you will be dancing in close proximity to others. It is very advisable to bring a small towel, a change of top, chewing gum and a deodorant to make the experience enjoyable both for yourself and your dancing partners. Stay fresh! :-)

Your shoes are a very important part of your dancing wardrobe, the ideal footware is a  proper pair of dance shoes with suede soles. If you do not own a pair of dance shoes yet please bring a pair of smooth soled shoes, the type you can walk in for about an hour and not hurt your feet. Anything that stays with your entire foot when you lift it, and allows you to pivot comfortably on hard wood floors without too much grip.

We advise NO slippers, mules, grippy rubber soles or footwear that leaves your heel when you lift your foot.  No trainers, black rubber soles, stilettos, boots, wedges or metal-heeled shoes, as they will damage the floor.
