We offer this 5 hour intensive course to get you dancing super fast, while having enough time to layout and practice the essential foundations of Salsa footwork and partnerwork.

Who Is It For

This workshop is designed for those who have never danced before or danced very little. We start from the basics and move through the essential steps to help you feel confident enough to dance socially at parties and clubs. At the completion of this intensive course you will be able to move directly into Salsa Improvers 1.

No partner needed! We always rotate partners so the class is fun and you get to experience the social aspect of Latin partner dancing. You will get to dance with a number of people in your class which will help you work on your body movement and stepping in a partner hold, as well as better understand the impact of the leading and following techniques.

Shaan is the head instructor at Caramelo Latin Dance and is passionate about teaching Beginners and showing them the fun and the beauty of the world of Latin dancing! Affectionately known everywhere for beautiful leading skills and for "London's smooth moves", he has been dancing and teaching Salsa, Cha Cha, Mambo, Bachata and other Latin dances for more than 20 years, acquiring a vast knowledge and experience, equalled by very few, in the field of Latin dance in the UK.

Shaan has performed at some of the biggest Salsa congresses and festivals in the world like Berlin, Athens, Istanbul and Amsterdam with Caramelo Dance. He is also regularly invited to teach workshops at international Salsa congresses and festivals all over Europe and beyond.

What You Will Learn

We will begin by breaking down the basic steps and individual turns for both leaders and followers and we will teach you how to connect with your partners.

Men (Leaders) will learn how to develop strong leading techniques and Ladies (Followers) will learn how to develop strong following techniques with smoothness andbasic body movement skills.

After completing this workshop you will have a good base and a repertoir of moves, key turn-patterns and steps to start trying out in a club on a night out!

But above all, we promise you a memorable and fun Saturday, where you will make your first steps into the world of Salsa, meet new people, dance, learn and will have a lot of fun in the process!
