For this week's selcection, we've gone for someone more than a little special. If we talk about the history of Venezuelan music , without a doubt, one of the first musicians to be mentioned is Juan Sedes, better known in the art world as "Johnny Sedes". Johnny Sedes was one of the representative figures of the Salsa scene in the 70s. His brilliant career as a saxophonist, arranger, composer and director of his own orchestra developed in New York.

“Mama Calunga” was the album that made him famous and included  participation of such musicians and artists as Mario Rivera, Don Palmer, Johnny Sedes on saxophone, Chaparro on trumpet, Richie Ray on piano, Leo Gonzalez and Chivirico Davila on vocals, as well as Bobby Cruz. “Mama Calunga” by Johnny “Juan” Sedes is a rare gem in the  “Fonseca” records catalogue, it came out in 1969 and has been a hit on the dance floors ever since.

We give you... JOHNNY SEDES with "MAMA CALUNGA"! :)
