Song of the Week - Moliendo Cafe, Ray Perez

New week and a new song to share with you guys! Continuing the theme of the  amazing Zurich Salsa Festival, here is one of my favourite tunes interpreted by the legend that is Ray Perez.

"Moliendo Cafe" is one of the best known Venezuelan songs. This piece was written in 1959 by a Caracas-born artist Hugo Blanco. This was his very first composition and it achieved tremedous success in the 60s. In the original version the lyrics tell of a worker who sings about his frustrated love whilst he works at night grinding coffee. Over two hundred versions of this song have been recorded by various artists including Perez Prado and Placido Domingo.

Here's the instumental version of "Moliendo Cafe" by Ray Perez for your listenning pleasure :-)
